This is what 31 looks like...

I was sent this Pink Blush top to style.  The original post is here.  All opinions are 100% my own.

So, this is was 31 looks like (the age, not the purses).  No eye makeup, comfy (sparkly!) shirt, and my newest favorite shoes.

Exactly a week ago, I turned 31.  It was a pretty sweet day, if I'm honest.  This is the second year that I've taken off work and gone shopping by myself.  Oh, sweet peace and silence (minus my horrible singing of Christmas songs in the car)!

I don't have any profound thoughts on turning 31.  31 does feel better than 30, but I can't put my finger on it.  I feel more comfortable in my skin, which I guess is something that just happens as you get older.  I know myself, and I feel more confident.

I mean, I'm posting outfit pics without any eye make up on, so...  Yeah, even thought it was my birthday, it was still one of those days.

But, anyways.  The day was pretty great.  I drove over to Raleigh to shop at Crabtree.  I made my usual stops at Barnes & Noble (yay, 3 for 2 table!), Lush, and Sephora (p.s.  Not going to have a budget post for December, because I spent all of it on things that aren't clothes).

Then, I met Angela for lunch at Panera.  I wanted to stop by Ulta on the way home, but very wisely decided against it.  After heading straight home, filming a haul video, and then picking up the kids, we just did make it to my mom's house on time for dinner.

Yay for a home cooked meal that wasn't made by me!

How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

Pink Blush & a Twitter Giveaway!

Pink Blush sent me some clothing items to style.  I was able to choose them, and they are all marked with a "c/o."  All opinions are 100% my own.  Spoiler alert: I am in love with Pink Blush.

Pink Blush Fall Fashion #PinkBlushBlackFriday

When I think of holiday weekends, I think of three things: lounging, shopping, and partying.  And shopping!  ...I already said that, didn't I?  I am very much into the shopping portion of holiday weekends, in case you couldn't tell.

I've put together three of my favorite outfits for a holiday weekend or a holiday month (otherwise known as December).

Top: Pink Blush c/o // Leggings: Pink Blush c/o // Necklace: Pink Blush c/o // Boots: Forever 21

This first outfit is perfect for lounging around (minus the boots, of course).  It's super comfortable and the leggings are very thick and warm.  I've worn this outfit a ton already and have gotten a ton of compliments on the top and necklace!  I love that I can wear this around the house but, also, easily throw on the boots if I need to run errand.  If I have company coming over, I already feel put together.

Booties: Target (similar)

During the colder months, I gravitate towards black, denim, and grey.  This year, I am consciously branching out and infusing color into my wardrobe!  This kimono is perfect to throw on over a tee and jeans.  An otherwise simple outfit looks interesting, without the bulk.  I don't know about you, but I don't like wearing bulky layers while I shop.  This is perfect and cute for shopping!

I love having a special dress tucked away for special occasions.  This purple and black dress is so perfect for the holidays.  It's fancy and modest.  Colorful and minimalist.  I love it!  Bonus points for comfort -- the fabric is so soft.  I've dressed it up with an accent necklace, but I also envision it with a longer gold necklace.  And boots!  I think flat boots would look just as amazing.

Now, it's your turn for two things!  One, tell me what you wear for the holidays.

And, two, go follow me on Twitter so you can enter my Pink Blush giveaway.  Tweet me the best deal you got for Black Friday, and you'll be entered to win a dress from Pink Blush.  Make sure to tag me (@rebeccalately), Pink Blush (@shoppinkblush) and use their Black Friday hashtag (#PinkBlushBlackFriday).

The winner will be randomly chosen tomorrow night!  Good luck!!

My favorite mustard sweater

Holy glasses glare!  Sorry about that.  Next time I'll remember to tilt my head down a bit. :)

The Best Mustard Sweater Old Navy
Sweater: Old Navy // Button-up: Old Navy // Pants: Gap // Shoes: Lucky // Necklace: Forever 21

Mustard is one of my favorite fall colors!  I know it doesn't actually go with everything, but I like to think it does.  On paper, this outfit is all kinds of wrong.  Navy (in the polka dots) with black, water-stained shoes (that are too comfy to not wear), and a glaring shade of yellow thrown into the mix.  Somehow, it all works together and I got a few compliments on it.

I wore this a week or so ago, but I'm thinking about wearing it tomorrow!  It's so comfortable, I can go from cooking at my house to eating at our relatives' house, easy peasy.

Who knows what this sweater will get paired with next!

Seeing Fall Through Rose(gal) Colored Glasses

Rosegal sent me this shirt to style.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Rosegal Fall Outfit 2

Rosegal Fall Outfit 3
Top: Rosegal (c/o) // Jeans: Gap // Sweater: New Direction (thrifted, similar)
Clutch: Urban Expressions (similar style wristlet) // Boots: Forever 21

Despite the fact that I love fall and everything that goes along with it, I am going to try hard and not get an outfit rut.  When your coworkers comment on the reg that you wear more black and grey than anything else ... it's time to switch thins up a bit.  I am the first one to admit that once the cold weather starts, I'm all about the black and grey (and denim.  and cognac!).

I know this Rosegal top will be perfect and keep me out of my rut!  I love that this shade of coral can be mixed and matched.  It would look so pretty with blue, don't you think?

If you want to pick up something from Rosegal to keep your fall wardrobe fresh, they have given me a coupon code to pass on to you all.  If you use the coupon code joeyCgil, you will received 8% off your order.

Blue cardigan with grey top

Fall Casual Fashion 1

Fall Casual Fashion 2
Top: Gap (similar) // Cardigan: Gap (via thredUP, similar)
Jeans: Target (similar) // Shoes: Old Navy

These photos are obviously not from this week.  These were taken back when I didn't have a pile of scarves in my room and mismatched mittens in the kids' cubby drawers.  I like this outfit so much, I'm going to try and recreate it for winter.  I have longer/warmer versions of the cardigan and shoes that will be perfect.  I think it will be more of a work outfit, so I'll make sure to dress it up with a statement necklace.

Do you try and recreate outfits across the seasons?

Saturday Footwear

Sneakers: 1 // 2 // 3
Flats: 1 // 2 // 3
Booties: 1 // 2 // 3

Whether I'm running errands all day or playing with the kids in the yard, all of my Saturday footwear has one thing in common: comfort!  I don't need any pinched toes or sore heels.  It helps that these are all cute options, too.

So.. make that two things in common!

What footwear do you wear on the weekends?

Infinity scarves galore!

It's no secret that I love scarves.  And... it's not secret that I LOVE Gertie & Baxter infinity scarves.  I discovered them during a collaboration with 9th & Elm and have since then purchased another one.  I love the ease of infinity scarves.  There are no ends with which to fuss.  I am not the best scarf arranger (we'll leave that honor to Fran).  I can never get a regular scarf to look floofy enough.

But, with infinity scarves, you just stick it over your head, twist the other end over your head, and you're done!  Easy peasy (did you just say lemon squeezy in your head?).

Here are some more infinity scarves I've come across that are also gorgeous:

Stitch Fix Fave!

Fall Casual Fashion
Top: Olive & Oak via Stitch Fix // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Converse // Socks: Target

Y'all, my most recent fave from Stitch Fix is so comfortable.  I got this in my October box, and it's been my tee-of-choice on the weekends.  This is the first time I wore it.  We were going to be out of the house all day, so I just wanted to be comfortable.  This shirt survived the day (e.g., no stains)! Being out and about all day with my husband and three kids ... no stains is basically the ultimate victory.

Happy Friday!  What are you doing this weekend?

Staples in my closet

Fall Office Fashion Top: Target (similar) // Necklace: Love Shopping Miami (won in giveaway, similar)
Skirt: thrifted (similar .. and more autumnal/wintery!) // Shoes: Forever 21 (similar style, different colors)

Things that are a must for my closet:

--Denim shirt
--Cute midi skirt
--Statement necklace(s)
--Neutral heels

These are some of my favorite items in my closet, all rolled into one outfit.  This year, I've been focusing on buying things that I absolutely love.  I can say that I'm 100% more satisfied with my closet this year.

I've always been somewhat happy with my wardrobe.  However, more often than not, I would buy something (most likely thrifted) and a couple months later I wouldn't like it anymore.  At the beginning of the year, I purposed to buy things that I will like forever. #dramaticmuch

I know that I will never be a perfect shopper, and I will buy things that won't be in my closet forever. But, I do think I'm closer to having a closet that I love.  In fact, I am so close that I'm thinking about doing something a little different with my budget next year ... I might (MIGHT) do a thrifting-only year.  I know, I know... that shouldn't be hard, right?

I don't know!  What do you think?  If I do a thrifting-only year, I would not count shoes because I've been a little more picky about the shoes I purchase.  And my Goodwill has had an awful shoe selection for months now.  So, yeah.

I need your thoughts!

The classic top/cardigan/skirt combination is the easiest work outfit to pull together in the morning.  But ... it can be a little boring sometimes, don't you think?  I like to keep it fresh with different fabrics, textures, and colors.

I paired this top and necklace earlier this year, in my summer remix.  I love the way the pink and gold look together!

Tee: Everlane // Skirt: Nashona (same style, different fabric) // Necklace: Forever 21 (similar)
Shoes: Rockport (won in a giveaway, similar)

It's no secret that I love Nashona skirts!!  This is the second one that I own, and I couldn't be more excited about this vibrate pattern.  It is so dang happy!

I styled it here as a summer/early fall outfit.  But, as the weather quickly becomes cooler here I am thinking of ways to wear it for the fall/winter.  I'm thinking brown tights and boots with a cardigan thrown over the tee.  And I might have to purchase a Nashona necklace to go with it!

What do you think?
