SUMMER STYLE | JULY 2018 STITCH FIX OUTFITS

I have used my Stitch Fix referral link within this Stitch Fix outfits post.  If you click through and schedule a fix, I will receive a $25 Stitch Fix credit.  Please don't feel obligated to click, but thank you if you do!  Additionally, if you create a Stitch Fix account you will have your own referral link with which to earn credits!

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed that I needed help with my recent Stitch Fix box.  I requested a box of summer tops, and my stylist knocked it out of the park.  She sent me a good variety of tops from casual to work appropriate to just plain interesting.

I loved the tops so much, but it wasn't practical to keep all of them.  I turned to Instastories and placed a poll on each item.  The results were surprising!

You know how much I love stripes. so it was no surprise that this top was in my fix.  I don't think this stripe color combo has ever made its way into my wardrobe, so it was a very welcome surprise.  This was so comfortable when I put it on, I had to keep it.  This came with me on a weekend away, and it was also perfect for traveling.

Andrew Marc Performance Talulla Lurex Detail Knit Top, $38

I instantly thought this was cute when I pulled it out of the box.  The strap detail is very fun, but I don't think it's something that I'll love for years to come.  The fabric was incredibly comfortable, and it had glittery thread running throughout it.  As much as I love glitter, it's not practical for every day.  Additionally, since I've been making purchases based my wardrobe color scheme, red is not in the forefront.  I love it for special occasions or statement pieces, but it's nothing I wear in my every day wardrobe.  So, this got sent back.

Y'all.  This blouse.  It's so pretty.  I immediately wanted to keep it when I pulled it out of the box, but I had to rein myself in and try it on first.  Of course, I loved it paired with these white jeans, but it also looks good with blue denim.  The bottom hem is stretchy, which is something I'm not used to.  Typically, I try to steer clear of items that cling around my middle.  I know that tucking in my tops will make my frame look more thin, so I'm really stepping out of my comfort box by keeping this.  But, I love the details, fabric, color, and the cut of this top so much that I see myself wearing this often this summer.

Cece Sportswear Harice Collared Printed Blouse, $68

I was completely enamored by this print.  It's so cute!  A couple years ago, I had a really cute mint top with a really cute swimmer print that's similar to this one.  I love how summery it feels with the swimmers, bu the dark blue just doesn't work for me in this hot weather.  I also love the peter pan color, but it also made me look a little too matronly.  If the cut of the top had been slimmer, it would have been cute instead of matronly.  This was sent back.

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you probably already know that I don't care for tank tops.  they're just not a staple for me, even in the heat.  That being said, I have a small collection of tanks in my wardrobe, but each one has some sort of special element that is unique and really makes the tank worth it.  Basically, a tank really has to me interesting if I'm going to keep it. This one was nice, but not unique enough to add to my wardrobe.  It was sent back.

I hope you enjoyed this review of my July 2018 Stitch Fix!  As always, I am excited to get a fix in the mail completely tailored to my style.  What did you think of these items?  Did you agree with the Instastory polls?

I'll be doing an Instastory poll for my next fix.  If you want to weigh in, make sure to follow me on Instagram so you won't miss when that is posted to my stories.  You can follow me here.

SUMMER STYLE | SEVENLY HUMAN TRAFFICKING CHARITY

These tops were sent to me to style.  All opinions are mine alone.  Thank you for supporting the brands that support this blog.  And thank you so much if you make a purchase through Seenly this month, supporting human trafficking charities!

If you remember from the beginning of the year, I made a few intentions going forward.  They were specifically for 2018, but of course I hope to continue them on into the future.  One of my goals was to add more and more ethically sourced clothing to my wardrobe.

For years, I've been aware of ethically sourced clothing.  I've shopped at a couple online shops that only sell ethical brands or produce their own ethically produced clothing and accessories.   To be honest, it never felt like I could really make a difference when it comes to ethical products.  Most of the items I'd come across were so expensive or simply not my style.

Over the past couple years, I've found a few brands that not only speak to my style but also fit into my budget.  I can't tell you how wonderful it is to not only add to my wardrobe but to also support causes that are important to me.

Enter, Sevenly!  In case you've never heard of Sevenly, they are a clothing company that dedicates each month to a particular category of charities.  The entire month of July is dedicated to the fight against human trafficking.  Sadly, I live in an area where human trafficking is a reality.  Being so close to I-95 means that human traffickers can get in and out of the state quickly.  In 2016, we were ranked 10th in human trafficking cases.

That is a very scary statistic, and any way I can help spread the word is good.  You can find Sevenly's collection here.  I was given my choice of tops, and it was very hard to choose!  There are so many styles, colors, and designs to choose from.  There is literally something for everyone, not to mention how incredibly soft they are!  Every tee I have is so, so soft and comfy.  I will be wearing this for a long time to come, but especially during the month of July.

SUMMER STYLE | BLACK & WHITE W/EVERLANE

Earlier this year, I purchased a few Everlane tops in what I thought was my size.  I had been wearing a few Everlane tees for years, both in the medium size and the large size.  Naturally, I assumed that buying a large in the crew neck tees would be the right size, but they were a little tighter than I like.  So, they've been hanging in my closet ever since in hopes that the Tone It Up Bikini Series would get me fit enough to wear them.

Well, spoiler alert (not really), it did and I am wearing my Everlane tees again.  Now, I could've easily spent the money on a size bigger in each color, especially since they're incredibly affordable.  But, it was cheaper to work out and lose a few pounds.  ;)

That is a joke, because I definitely spent more money on workout equipment than I spent on these tees.  But, you can't put a price on your health!  This isn't really a post about the Tone It Up Bikini Series, but I did lose 10 pounds and 10.5 inches.  And now I can wear these tees!  (that rhymes)

SUMMER STYLE | RED WHITE & BLUE

It's never too late to share a patriotic outfit, right?  When I kept this top from a Stitch Fix a few months ago, I instantly thought it'd be perfect for July.  Patriotic colors are so fun any time of the year, in my opinion, but they look especially fresh and stylish in the summer.

This top is so comfortable, and it's been perfect for this sweltering heat.  Since we haven't really been outside much, I paired it with this pair of jeans.  The jeans are also from Stitch Fix, and they are a thinner fabric than your typical jeans.

I couldn't resist my favorite Jack Rogers sandals.  These are the Georgica sandals in platinum.  I purchased them two years ago and couldn't be happier.  They go with everything and are so comfortable.

Do you love wearing patriotic colors?

SUMMER STYLE | RUFFLE SLEEVE TEE

I think it's time for this top to make another appearance on the blog, yes?  I literally would have to look back at my posts to see the last time it was featured in an outfit, but whatever that date is I've worn it umpteen times since.  My wonderful Cladwell Outfits app suggests this top so often to me, and I am happy to obliged.

Seriously, I could live all day every day in this shirt.  Em really knows how to stock her shop with the cutest and comfiest clothes!

SUMMER STYLE | WEDNESDAY WORKWEAR

I've been wanting to share my work outfits more here on the blog (instead of just on Instagram), so here we are!  I wore this on Monday & really loved it.  This gorgeous top has just the right amount of detail while still being modest and office appropriate.  It's also breathable for summer, so it's perfect for this super hot week!

I bought this top last year for our 11th wedding anniversary date, and it's still going strong.  Unfortunately, it's sold out.  I've linked a few similar tops at the bottom of this post, if you're looking for a top similar.

How have you been faring during the heat this week?  It's hard to believe that one year ago we were getting ready to move into our house.  I remember it was one of the hottest weeks of the year.  Even though the heat is unbearable right now, I'm loving the memories of moving into our house and how exciting it was.
