A little animal print for your Thursday

Top:  J. Crew, thrifted  /  Skirt:  Talbots, thrifted  /  Belt: Thrifted  /  Shoes:  Rockport, via Online Shoes Giveaway on 26 and Counting

Funny thing about this shirt.  I saw this lovely pattern on the rack of Goodwill and thought it was lovely.  That was it -- just lovely.  I'm not really into animal prints, so the fact that it was kind of sort of an animal print didn't register with me until I had purchased it and brought it into the office to show my coworkers.

"Ooh!  Animal print!"  they said.

"Huh?"  I said.

"Isn't it leopard?"  they said.

"Oh, um.  Maybe...  Maybe cheetah?  I don't know..."  I said.

I don't what this print is classified as.  All I know is, I love it.  And it only looks good tucked into a skirt.  Untucked, it is just too much.  Rest assured, you will never see the shirt tails of this shirt.

Thrifty Thursday: Animal Print Edition

Everything was thrifted, except the necklace

You guys, I'm such a bad fashion blogger.  Every time there is an awesome link up involving animal print, this is the shirt I wear.

Spoken with the inflection of Chandler Bing:  Could I be any more boring?

Anyhoo, make sure to check Bri's blog today.  She's having a link up today.  Not only is she amazing, but all the bloggers that link up with her are pretty awesome, too!

Double Trouble

Button-up, skirt, and shoes were thrifted; Nail polish is Rimmel 60 Second in Instyle Coral

When I heard that the next Trend Spin Linkup's theme was animal print, I immediately knew to pull out this J. Crew shirt that I thrifted.  And then I thought, why not throw in some more leopard with my shoes?  The more leopard, the merrier!  Lucky for all of us, I left the skirt neutral.

I'm not entirely sure of the brand on the skirt's tag.  Larry Levine?  Would that be Adam Levine's fashion forward brother, mayhaps?  Either way, I was very excited to find this skirt.  I've been wanting either a bandage skirt or dress ever since Princess Kate wore that Reiss dress.  And, let's face it, someone's gotta keep the bandage skirt trend going while she's losing the baby weight.

Don't worry, Princess Kate.  I got this.

Today, I'm linking up with Walking in Memphis in High Heels and The Fashion Canvas.

So, if you read any amount of fashion blogs, you've probably been reminded that fall is around the corner.  I, for one, really enjoy the transition from summer to fall.  Cold weather is my jam.  Give me freezing temperatures and scarves any day.  This is probably why I miss Alaska so much  :(  Although, to be honest, Alaska is the antithesis of transitional weather.  The only transition you go through up there is break up season in the spring, and that's just miserable because you know the mosquitoes are soon to come after that.

Anyways, I'm rambling.  I am just made for cold temperatures, so I kind of wear fall-ish clothes year round.  Given that my office is freezing, it's not too uncomfortable for me.  This outfit is basically a fall transitional outfit -- I have summer on the bottom and fall on the top!  I love this outfit.  The white skinny jeans really make the animal print stand out!  Speaking of the jeans, they are by far the best white skinny jeans I've ever tried on.  And I've tired them all!  I took a chance on these by ordering them online through Ann Taylor, and I am so glad I did.  They're petite, high-ish waisted, and not see through.  Basically all of my requirements for white jeans.

Thank you, Ann Taylor, it only took $50 and two whole years of trying on white jeans, but I finally found you!

Static and Happy New Year!!

Top, belt, skirt, and shoes were thrifted (hooyeah!)

Can you hear that?  That static white noise coming from your screen?  Ooops, never mind!  It's just my shirt.  :)  I have no idea what animal print this is, but I love it.  I spied it on the rack at Goodwill and thought "Oh, yes.  You will be mine."  I may have shoved a couple of old ladies* to get to it, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

In other news, Happy New Year!!!  I didn't stay up last night, because I'm trying to get back on my old routine of going to bed early-ish and waking up early.  It's so hard to get back in the swing of things after the holidays, isn't it?

That leads me to the next topic - New Year Resolutions.  Do you make them?  I kind of do.  If I have something that I want to do, I tend to just do it no matter what time of the year it is.  However, I do love the fresh start of a new year and reflecting on things that I want to accomplish, personal and otherwise.

A couple of bloggy things that I'd like to accomplish are simply keeping it up, starting monthly favorites (beauty or fashion, not sure yet), and working on a redesign.

How about you?  Do you make resolutions?  What do you hope to accomplish this year?

*just kidding.  no one was harmed during the purchase of this shirt.
