I can't think of a more appropriate day to wear a red heel than on Valentine's Day.  Oh... maybe Christmas?  Fourth of July?

Essentials: Flats

If my former-before-the-blog self could write this post, she wouldn't be.  I used to wear heels all the time.  My poor feet.  It wasn't until right after I started blogging that I switched over to wear flats more.  I still love my heels, but I love my feet more.  I slowly came to realize that flats can be just as stylish as heels, if not more.   I mean, if Audrey Hepburn could wear them...

I don't know about you, but after the holidays I need to rest.  I'm all about the hustle and bustle and making sure that we see everyone and do everything.  But, those couple days after Christmas are the best, because we make a point to slow down and stay home as much as possible.  And what do we wear when we stay home?  Pajamas, of course!

I actually received some pajamas this year for Christmas, one of which is a onesie.  Yes, folks, I am now the proud owner of a sock monkey onesie.  It's amazingly cozy and I love it.

I hope I'm not alone in this, but winter accessories are so much fun to shop for!  I have to rein myself in when the cold weather hits.  And I not only buy lots of scarves, but I knit them, too.  For living in a southern climate, I really own too many winter accessories.

Essentials: Black Boots

I don't know if you do this, but at the beginning of each season ... Or, really, whenever there is a major shift in the general temperatures, I take stock of my wardrobe and select a couple items to shop for.  For example, in the summer I tend to look for sandals and skirts.

Last fall, my focus was cognac boots.  I found a great pair at Old Navy.  This year, it was black boots.  I found an awesome pair from Forever 21 that only cost $12.99!  They fit, they're comfortable, and they honestly look good with everything.  But, I'd be lying if my eyes haven't been wondering to others I've seen online...
