We're heading into the weekend & I'm basically willing the weather to turn cold with my fashion choices.  Granted, during the week, I dress for my office (which actually feels like the dead of winter).  So, I can pretend that I'm dressed appropriately for 5 out of the 7 days of the week.

On the weekend?  It's back to loose tops and ripped jeans.  I threw in a scarf for this outfit simply because ...well... just because.  I've actually tasked myself with going through my autumn and winter clothes this weekend.  So, if wearing fall-inspired outfits won't change the weather, maybe getting out all the woolens will?

Happy Friday, friends!  I am so ready to chill this weekend and enjoy some time with my hubby. We're trying out a new restaurant on Saturday, and I'll be sharing that experience next week.  Since we'll have a few hours to ourselves, I might actually have a chance to take some outfit photos!  It's been hard to fit in outfit photos lately, especially with the kids having Spring Break this past week.

Lately, I've been gravitating towards casual flowy tops that are also really nice, so you can either dress them up or down.  Here's a little inspiration for  your weekend!

Friends, I have but one goal for this weekend.  That is, to pack boxes!  I've had a goal of packing up our storage room since January 1... and the only thing I've succeeded in doing is clearing a walkway in the storage room.  It was so tidy when we moved into our rental and then all the holidays happened ... not to mention, I really want to declutter a bunch before we move again.

Here's to weekend goals and weekending inspiration!  All I need is a little color on my lips, some comfy jeans on my hips, and maybe some sunnies if I venture outdoors.

Making outfit inspiration boards is so much fun.  I like combining pieces that I wouldn't normally put together.  This pink and navy is a fun color combo and pretty casual for the weekend.  We'll be running errands this weekend and a cold front is coming through.  And you know what I dislike about running errands when it's cold?  Carrying around a jacket.  I'll just wear a cozy sweater and call it a day...

Weekending Inspiration

This weekend is going to be so nice!  It's supposed to be rainy and dreary, so basically the only option is to stay inside... right?  ;)  Right now, I am feeling inspired by winter whites.  These sneakers remind me of my SeaVees Montereys, and I love the shoelaces.  The blush pink color is so pretty.  We'll be putting away all of our Christmas decorations this weekend, but in between luggings boxes to the storage room I'll be playing around with some new makeup.  Wishing I was playing around with this gorgeous bronzer/highlighter palette!  Next time I'm at Nordstrom, this will be on my radar.

Recently, I wore this outfit when we took a trip to the park and ran errands.  It was the perfect weekend outfit.  I felt so comfy and yet didn't feel frumpy.  Gotta love how trendy boyfriend jeans are!  This linen top from Old Navy has been a great basic, and I have already worn it with a variety of outfits.  It hasn't made it into a work outfit yet, because it is not that 'put together.'  But, for the weekend, it's perfect!

Happy weekend!  I am ready for this week to end.  Hopefully next week is going to be a little more normal.  We have a busy weekend ahead.  Our Halloween costumes aren't finished yet, so we'll be putting the finishing touches on those.  I have a ton of baking to do, and we're going to try and get our yearly family pictures done.

I really wanted my dear friend Em to do them this year, like she did last year.  She does amazing working!!  But, we have a full schedule every weekend and then I realized that my Shutterfly coupons expire this Sunday.  So, we'll be heading to the park with my tripod on Friday evening. Hopefully they'll turn out decent.  I haven't decided what I'll wear, but it'll be something simple like this.

Happy Friday!  It feels like we just had a weekend, doesn't it?  I put together some weekend fashion inspiration.  I love a simple outfit that can be changed from day to night with a simple shoe switcheroo.  White Chuck Taylors are something that's missing from my closet.  They seem to go with everything, don't they?  And I've been searching for a green anorak style jacket for a while. I know they've been around for a while and everyone and their sister has one, but they are quite versatile.

I have never been so glad for the weekend to be here.  It's time to kick off my heels and put my feet up.  Today, I have some weekend inspiration for you.  Distressed skinny jeans have been on my radar lately.  Hopefully I'll find some soon!  I love wearing relaxed tees for the weekend.  They can be dressed up or down and more often than not, I dress them down.  My makeup is quite minimal on the weekend, but I can't go without gloss, eyeliner, and mascara.

I am huge fan of florals.  It really doesn't matter what time of year it is, but they are more appropriate during the spring and summer.  I love this floral pattern on black, because it'd be so appropriate year round.  This dress is so classy, I would stick with my regular make up routine.  I've been using my Anastasia Beverly Hills bronzer in Fawn, Laura Geller Blush-n-Brighten in Tropic Hues, Marc Jacob's Fineliner, and Lancome's Definicil Mascara.

I like to think my style is eclectic.  My wardrobe encompasses a lot of different colors, cuts, styles, and aesthetics.  This outfit is kind of a mish mash of Parisian chic with some Southwestern flair with the turquoise.  I am definitely going to recreate this outfit in the future.  The only piece I need are the shoes.  And, I mean, how could anyone say no to those?

Any plans for the weekend?  We are (finally!) home for a weekend and will be getting our house ready to put it on the market next week!  I am equal parts stressed and excited.

You all know how much I love fashion and makeup.  :)  We'll be taking a couple camping trips this month and I've found two things colliding -- my desire to look good all of the time and my desire to get outside and do things.  Sometimes those two desires don't go hand-in-hand.  I've rounded up a minimalist packing list for camping, if you want to have fun outside and look good at the same time.  Also, this round up is fueled by my need to pack clothes for five people in one suitcase. ;)

I love having multiple layers that coordinate.  I could mix and match and create at least seven outfits (not that I need seven) with these pieces.  Boots and cute socks are obviously a requirement.  :)  And let's be honest... I don't need makeup in the woods, but when we're all together as a family we take tons of pictures.  A full face of makeup isn't practical at all, but a little waterproof mascara is.

Weekending: The Pamper Edition

The weekend is the perfect time to relax and recharge.  We'll be having soccer start up soon, so Saturdays will dedicated to the soccer field!  For now, I'm going to use Saturday evenings to recharge and relax with Will.  Before we settle down for a movie, I like to take a warm bath and do a little skincare pampering.  I love hot baths but they can dry out my skin.  This One Love Organics body serum rehydrates it.  A little nail creme on my cuticles and foot creme on my heels, and I'm ready for my cozy pajamas and fuzzy socks.

I love doing a hydrating sheet mask.  If you've never done one, you are missing out!  You have to let it sit on your skin for a while, usually 10-20 minutes.  But, after wards, the essence is left on your skin and you pat it on. I don't feel the need for any skincare other than a hydrating eye serum.  Then, I'm ready for my cup of tea and a movie!

There's nothing cozier than poncho sweater for a winter weekend!  I know that the end of winter is coming upon us in the next few weeks, but I'm not ready to give up my sweaters!  Fall/winter are easily my favorite seasons, style-wise.  For now, I'll cozy up with my sweaters on the weekend, swipe my Dior Abricot across my nails to ward off the dry air, and wear a gorgeous red lip!

It is finally Friday!  I am so glad that the weekend is here.  It has been a very busy week, and I will be doing all I can to avoid shopping this weekend.  ...That is really weird to say, but I've actually had my fill of shopping.  The stores are guaranteed to be crazy busy!  We're heading to the theater to see the new Star Wars movie tomorrow.  I'm super excited.  I grew up watching the movies (in the 80s, obviously), and they are just so cool.  It's neat that they're still popular ... although, I have to wonder how many more products they will put Star Wars on.  It's everywhere!!

I am so cold-natured, I'll be sure to dress warmly for the theater.  It seems like every time we go, it's frigid.  I'll be doing my standard jeans/sweater/booties combo.

I have been loving cozy sweaters lately. I found a gorgeous, grey, cabled sweater at Target and I can't help but wear it every weekend.  I wore it to work once and it felt very casual, so it will be an at-home sweater from now on.  I love this striped tee for layering or by itself with black pants.  And, hello, red shoes.  How are you not in my closet already?

I love remixing items from day to night.  I took this sweet, highly appropriate sweater for this weekend and styled it in two outfits.  One is laid back yet pulled together, the other is classy and feminine.  This sweater goes effortlessly from jeans in the morning, to gorgeous flare skirt in the evening.  Depending on the weather, tights might be in order. Either way going from day to night is a breeze when you switch out your bottom half and exchange a necklace for earrings.

Stripes are my go-to print for the weekend, as I think it is for most people.  This top is very similar to my Market & Spruce top from Stitch Fix, and yet I still feel like I need it.  Why is it I never have enough striped tops in my closet?

One thing I definitely don't have enough of is casual shoes.  I have a pair of black chucks but I really want a pair of white ones.  I can't look at white without thinking 'STAINS!!  WHERE IS MY OXI-CLEAN?"  However, that certainly wouldn't deter me from purchasing a pair.  

So, apparently stripes and shoes are my weaknesses.  What are yours?

There is nothing easier on the weekend than a comfortable pair of jeans, a striped tee, and cute booties.  I love this look, and I have similar items in my closet.  When I wear stripes, I like to keep everything else a bit simple.  This jewelry would be perfectly fuss-free for a Saturday running errands or heading out with friends.  Although weekends allow me some time to play with makeup more, I usually opt for a class look with products that will stay all day.

I've been wearing my black skinny jeans so much lately.  They should basically be known as my Saturday Pants, because that is what they're becoming.  My black skinnies are from Gap, but I've also been wanting a pair of ripped knee jeans.  Being that this year is a thrifting year for me (that I've been failing miserably at), my only hope is to either rip the ones I already have (not going to happen), request some via Stitch Fix (hmmmmm...), or thrift some to rip (more likely).

Of course, I boringly pair my skinnies with flow tops because it feels like pajamas.  If Saturdays can't be for pajama-esque clothes, then what are they for?  Well, I will tell you.  Today, I'll be participating in the National Read-a-Thon.  I've pledged to read a book from 12 noon to 4 pm.  You don't have to join a reading party (I won't be), but if you want to find out or more or donate to the National Book Foundation's fundraiser, you can read about it here.
