I know this week's style inspiration isn't super dressy, but that's just the kind of mood I've been in lately.  This past week, I wore an all black outfit (and sadly didn't get any pics of it), so I guess you could say I've been in a basic mind set with my outfits.  This super minimal dress is calling to me right now, and I love paired simple gray/taupe accessories.  Black and taupe are one of my favorite color combos.  Plus, this Cluse watch is so pretty.  I personally love my Cluse watch, but this marble face is really calling my name right now!

In case you're new to my blog, today's post is part of my Style Inspiration series.  Every Friday, I share an outfit.  I alternate between Weekending, or casual, outfits and Sunday Best, or fancy, outfits.  It's a great way for me to get creative with outfits and inspire myself to mix up the items in my closet.  Sometimes I pair together items that are similar to my own and sometimes I live vicariously through my own blog posts.  ;)

Most Sundays, I wear a dress to church.  There's not really a specific reason, other than it's just what I've always done.  However ... sometimes it's just more comfy to wear a casual outfit and dress it up with a few accessories!  My favorite accessory is a huge, chunky necklace and a classic clutch.  I could easily recreate this entire outfit in my closet, minus the clutch.  I might need to order it!

Even though summer is coming to an end, I'm still totally in the mood for gingham.  As the summer winds down, I'll definitely be wearing my gingham as much as possible.  This gingham dress is so cute and bonus ... it has pockets!  The bright pink is a beautiful ode to summer and nips in the waist.  Going with black accessories allows the pink to pop & take center stage next to the gingham.

Blush pink is my inspiration for my spring wardrobe this year, so I think it's definitely time to find a new skirt.  I bought a gorgeous pink skirt at Target a couple years ago, but the lining did not hold up very well.  This upcoming season, I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for a new one.  I love to pair pink with stripes.  The contrast between the feminine pink and graphic stripes is so fun.

Well, the weather has done it again.  We're supposed to have a chilly weekend, and all I want to do is bundle up in a cozy sweater and leggings.  Typically, I do dress up for church on Sunday.  However, I think this weekend will be just a bit more casual.  This grey and black look is simple and classic.  I love a simple color palette with a touch of gold.  Of course, a simple pink blush and lip gloss finish off the look, along with one of my favorite Marc Jacob nail polishes.

Did you catch the Lilly Pulitzer sale earlier this week?  I am not crazy about Lilly, but I do love their bright patterns and colors.  I also love that their look is unique and playful.  I bought a couple things at the sale, and I can't wait for them to arrive in the mail.  I put together this cute summer look using this fun Lilly dress.  Autumn will be here before we know it, so I absolutely love this easy breezy outfit!

Spring officially starts in a couple days, and I can definitely feel it in the air!  I am such a fan of fall and winter, but this year I'm actually looking forward to spring and summer fashion.  This dress would be perfect for Sunday.  The long sleeves will keep you warm if it's still a little cool outside.  And these shoes and purse can easily transition throughout all the seasons.  I have a watch very similar to this one, and I love it!  It's a gorgeous statement watch.  These makeup products are just a few of my current faves.  Keep an eye out for my March favorites later this month, because these will definitely make the cut!

You all know how much I love fall and winter fashion but, to be honest, there is nothing more exciting than shopping for a new spring dress.  With Easter at the end of the month, I've had spring dresses on my radar.  I've been to quite a few stores to find exactly what I want and, to be honest, I have no idea what I'm going to wear yet.  These are just a few of my faves from Sherry London.    I can't get over that pale pink one ... and that peplum dress is so classy!  I love the variety that they have on their site. They have something for everyone.  Sherry London also has an amazing party dress section!   I still like to wear dark colors year-round, so of course I had to throw in a couple classic pieces.  This polka dot dress is super cute!  The dark blue one is so gorgeous with the embellished top.  And that fuchsia, flowy dress?  Amazing!  All of these dresses would be perfect for Easter, and they will take me throughout spring and summer as well.

If I'm honest, I'm a mess on Sunday morning.  I don't know what it is.  I can get all five of us out the door every other day of the week, but on Sunday it's so hard.  I have a few go-to outfits that look great and go from church to lunch and then back home again.  Sometimes we run errands after lunch, so anything I wear really needs to be versatile and comfortable.

A really cute great sweater/sweatshirt-ish dress at Target has been calling my name, but this one from Caslon looks a little more polished.  These booties can go from winter to spring, and my Michael Kors Chandler bag would tie it all together.  I reach for my favorite make up for a natural but polished look.

How gorgeous is this cocktail dress?  I absolutely love the bold floral pattern, and this could easily transition from winter to spring to summer!  I'm not buying any clothes right now, since I'm in the midst of my winter capsule wardrobe experiment.  One thing I've noticed that with my capsule experiment is that I notice things that I really, really love.  Since I'm not buying anything, it gives me a lot of time to really think about what I want to add to my wardrobe.  I am thinking about buying this dress for Easter!

Do you plan your Easter outfit in advance?  It's at the end of March this year and since the month of March is going to be crazy for us, I want to buy my dress in advance.

Red has long been one of my favorite colors.  I love it no matter what time of year, but it looks especially bright and happy during the winter months.  I am kicking myself for not buying a new red top for my winter capsule wardrobe.  This look is perfect for a low-key Sunday at church.  And how comfortable would this be, to go from church to lunch to home again?

Here I am, back with a blue and black outfit.  Maybe I'll change it up at some point, but I just feel so classy in blue and black.  Throw in some tortoise shell glasses, and I have the perfect outfit to take me from church, lunch, and back home again.

This is probably one of the pricier outfit collages I've put together, but I just couldn't help it.  Apart from the top and skirt, these are all high quality pieces that I would purchase.  Just like anyone else who's bought cheap clothes most of their life, I've come to appreciate clothes and accessories that stand the test of time.  I don't know if I'll ever wear an outfit that costs this much (just in accessories), but I sure has heck am going to live vicariously through this collage if I can't.

I don't know why, but one of my favorite color combinations is black and turquoise.  I have always loved to wear all black and then punch it up with a bunch of turquoise.  The black makes the turquoise stand out even more.  And well...I guess I'm just combining two of my favorite colors!

Ever since winter hit, I've been lazy about my Sunday outfits.  It's been all jeans and boots and comfy sweaters over here.  Not only do I feel rushed every Sunday morning (hello, three children who don't want to get ready quickly), but I just want to be cozy and warm when it's chilly outside.  I'm making it my goal to get a little more dressed up for church on Sundays.  I actually have some really cute, comfy dresses that I can pair with tights.  I just need to be proactive and lay out my outfit the night before!

How do you stay comfy and cute during the cold months?  I hope I'm not the only one who wants to stay in pajamas all day!

So, weird thing.  I have more sleeveless dresses than any other kind of dress.  I'm thinking I need to remedy this, so I've been keeping my eye out for longer-sleeved dresses.  This one caught my eye, and I think the pattern is so cute!  I'd definitely have to kick up the color a notch with some mustard, although this J. Crew coat is a little pricey.  I love the cut, though!

So, Sunday mornings have been rough for the past couple months.  Our church does two services, and for years we've been attending the second one.  To be completely accurate, we've been attending the second service for exactly 6 years and 3 1/2 months (when our second son was born).  We decided to start going to the first one this summer.  

While I love having more time at lunch and in the afternoon, getting ready in the morning has been a mad dash.  Plain tops and bottoms (sometimes jeans!  for shame!), flats, a statement necklace, and whatever purse has my stuff in it.  And, bam, I'm out the door.

I don't think I've worn a high-low dress or skirt in quite a few years.  I think it looks a little juvenile on me. But, this dress looks so sophisticated!  Of course, I love the color.  Cobalt is one of my current favorite colors.  I love to pair it with my other two favorite colors -- black and cognac!
